The chance to avoid unpleasant and costly intervention by the dentist, is given only for effective screening.

Especially in dentistry, it is possible to prevent or detect illnesses before they lead to serious problems. The two main diseases of the teeth and gums – dental caries and periodontal disease – threaten the health of the teeth and can significantly affect the well-being. Its cause is a persistent bacterial coating on the tooth surface or in the periodontal pocket, which itself can not be completely removed by regular brushing conscientious. In addition to home care, the dentist therefore offers useful prophylactic measures. The professional teeth cleaning (PZR) is a cornerstone for the maintenance of dental health.

The professional teeth cleaning is more than just scaling. With it, all hard and soft plaque and bacteria are eliminated. Tooth decay and dental disease is effectively prevented that.

At the beginning of a professional dental cleaning is a thorough examination of the dentition. Thereafter, the pads on the tooth surfaces, remove the spaces between teeth and in periodontal pockets with special instruments. Especially in this area can be reached while brushing your teeth at home is difficult. Even tooth discoloration caused by coffee, tea or cigarettes condensate disappeared after the use of special instruments, such as a powder jet device.

Away the hard coverings are soft deposits on the series. Various hand tools, small brush and dental floss are used. Because bacteria settle first on rough places and niches, is next polishing to smooth the teeth. Subsequently, the cleaned tooth surfaces are coated with a fluoride varnish. This protects the tooth surfaces in the months before the acid attacks of oral bacteria.

Studies have shown that the Professional) dental cleaning every 6 months (3-4 months for multi-band patients the ideal addition to home care is to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Depending on the individual risk of disease, other time intervals can be useful.

The cost of professional teeth cleaning will depend on the respective costs, and does well on the personal oral hygiene of each patient. To do this, please ask your dentist. With regular use of bonus schemes are possible.

After a thorough examination of the teeth are the pads on the tooth surfaces, remove the spaces between teeth and in periodontal pockets with special instruments and the tooth surfaces then polished and / or fluoride.

The PZR is neither in the official (private) Fees may be mentioned in the Performance range of the health insurance, let alone defined.

In general it refers to:

Fluoridation of the teeth with concentrated preparations.
u.U. Post / post-processing in a further meeting

The PZR in Germany is increasingly gaining in importance, and so rely more and more people in the dental care and treatment not only on her toothbrush, but also put on the professional dental care at the dentist. This is proven by a representative Emnid survey commissioned by Colgate (2003), with 55% of all respondents who claimed to have taken have ever had a professional teeth cleaning to complete.

Scientific studies have revealed that PZR is an interval of six months, the ideal complement to the thorough cleaning to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Depending on individual disease risk, however, other time intervals appropriate.
PZR performance are not covered by state health insurers, private health insurance is among a refund depending on the chosen tariff. The costs depend on the time, they can possibly be at a “normal” based on PZR 100 – 150 €; be sure to provide an estimate in advance!

Several factors can cause tooth decay. The main cause is a diet rich in sugars that help bacteria to eat away the enamel, although depending on the type of sugar, its incidence varies. Other causes include poor dental hygiene, the absence of fluoride in the water and own genetics, as proved that causes tooth decay in some children are especially sensitive to continue despite prophylactic correct habits.

While the bacteria S. mutans is primarily responsible for tooth decay, have found other factors that also show an unexpected correlation with this problem: complications during pregnancy or delivery, premature birth or cesarean delivery, maternal diabetes, kidney disease, Rh incompatibility, allergies, frequent gastroenteritis and chronic diarrhea. A diet high in salt and low in iron and pacifier use also seem to favor the development of caries.

Before the first tooth, about half of children aged 6 months and are infected with Streptococcus mutans. According to research, at 24 months of age 84% of children had developed a substantial colony. Factors associated with these cases were the intake of sweetened drinks at bedtime, taking too many sweet foods, snack between meals, sharing food with adults and a high presence of these bacteria in the mother. By contrast, the absence of bacteria was associated primarily with regular brushing of teeth.
Bottle tooth decay

Once teeth begin to erupt, one of the most common causes of its appearance is called baby bottle tooth decay caused by frequent contact with milk or juice, especially if you leave the baby with a bottle to bed, using it as a pacifier. If your baby needs a bottle to use as a pacifier, it is imperative that only contains water. Never wet with honey or sugar.

This procedure removes dental pulp when it has become dead or infected. Dental pulp is the soft core of the tooth. It contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. The pulp extends from the top of the tooth, called the crown, all the way down to The Roots, in branches called canals.

Dental pulp may become infected Because of:

* An untreated cavity
* Trauma to the tooth
* Gum disease

When dental pulp becomes infected or dies, a painful abscess within the jawbone will occur. Removing dead or diseased dental pulp will prevent infection from spreading to other areas of the mouth and destroying bone around the tooth. If a root canal is not done, the tooth will need to be removed.

Common signs of pulp problems include:

* Pain when biting down on a tooth
* Pain when the tooth is not being used
* Sensitivity to hot or cold food or beverages
* Tooth discoloration
* Swollen gums around the infected tooth
* A draining boil-like structure (called a fistula) on the gum adjacent to the tooth

Possible Complications

Complications are rare, but no procedure is completely free of risk. If you are planning to have a root canal, your dentist will review a list of possible complications, Which may include:

* Pain and swelling
* Surgical-wound infection
* Persistent abscess
* Inability to save the tooth

Factors that may increase the risk of complications include:

* Immune system disorders
* Bleeding disorders
* Circulatory problems that can cause healing problems (eg, diabetes)

Be sure to discuss these risks with your dentist before the procedure.

One difficulty is the scarcity of sets of references to well-documented comparisons between past and present populations in Europe. The study, also in collaboration with S. Hillson authoritative in paleo-dentistry by SN Wasterlain will help fill this gap.

The authors studied tooth decay and tooth loss in the ante-mortem series of skeletons of the 19th century of Coimbra, Portugal, for which we know the identity and occupation of each subject. They analyzed 600 individuals and over 9,500 teeth. The main findings are the absence in this population of sexual variation important although the upper teeth are more affected women, the increase in caries prevalence with age, reached a preferential sectors premolars and molars and surfaces occlusal. The periodontium is not correlated to caries.

The authors mainly compare their results with those from series studies of Kenya (Manji, 1989) and China (Lian, 1989). Great similarities in terms of prevalence of affected teeth, increase with age are noted with these people. However, the ante-mortem loss are more frequent in the Portuguese series.

The authors did not use epidemiological data on the social issues. They have not been able to compare their results with existing data in Portugal, being harvested.

The results are fairly conventional in populations with reduced access to care but the size of this series is an indispensable reference for statistical studies paleo-dental future.

Tooth decay causes the destruction of the tooth, by action of the acids resulting from microbial metabolism.It appears that microbial contamination begins at birth and the final plant was installed during the first months after birth.

Streptococcus Mutans is believed to be responsible for initiating the process of decay. There are periods of colonization called “window of infective” and are between 7 and 29 months and another between 7 and 12. Colonization of Mutans St. depends on the child and the donor has teeth: It is proven that it is usually the child’s mother is the one that is closer and if she has multiple foci, poor hygiene, is more likely the spread .
Since colonization by Mutans St. along the child’s life there are other risk factors for infection of tooth decay:
1) diet: excessive consumption of sugars
2) quality of oral hygiene
3) socio-economic conditions of the family environment

What advantage does this type of bleaching over other known in the market?

All bleaching triggered some type of peroxide on the tooth, some need a week of therapy through the use of trays at night with the drawback of this chemical to eat during the hours of treatment and without constant monitoring by the dentist, in addition with the disadvantage of producing tooth sensitivity, others use a conventional light contact with the tooth to raise the temperature sensitivity also producing the same and our treatment of ARC PLASMA, acts the same way as the laser, but the big difference is the cost of treatment because the team has different uses separate laser bleaching which raises costs, and our team is unique plasma arc teeth whitening.

alternative that might be appropriate for you: dental implants. The
Dental implants are an option for replacing missing teeth or
badly damaged. A dental implant offers comfort and stability and, by virtue of
artificial tooth it supports, is the restoration that most closely resembles a tooth
natural.

WHAT IS AN IMPLANT?

Implants are “anchors” that look like cylinders manufactured or screws. Are
artificial replacements for natural tooth roots. The implants are
used in the upper and lower jaw. They are made of titanium and other materials
appropriate for the human body. They attach to the jawbone and tissue
the gums to become a stable base for one or more teeth
tailor-made artificial, called dental crowns.
Dental implants have been used for several decades. Patients
all ages have chosen dental implants to replace a tooth or
several teeth or to support partial or full dentures. It is
no surprise. Dental implants and crowns help restore the
ability to chew food. They help fill the face that otherwise
look sunken because of missing teeth. Unlike dentures,
implants and crowns are not removed for soaking and cleaning at night. No
adhesives are needed.

IMPLANT PROCESS

Treatment is usually a three-part process that takes several months.
In the first step, the dentist surgically places the implant in the
jaw, with the top of the implant slightly higher than the bone level. It
inserted a screw in the implant to prevent the entrance of the gum tissue and
of other waste.
Gum then is secured over the implant. The implant will remain
covered by approximately three to six months while it fuses with the
bone, a process called “osseointegration.” There may be some discomfort,
swelling, or both for a few days after surgery, so we tend to
prescribes a pain medication to relieve discomfort. It is recommended
Often a diet of soft foods, cold foods and warm soup over the
healing process.
In the second step, the implant is uncovered and the dentist attaches an
extension, called a post, to the implant. Is allowed to heal gum tissue
around the post. Some implants require a second procedure
surgery in which a post is attached to connect the replacement teeth. With
other implants, the implant and post are a single unit placed in the mouth
during the first surgery. Once healed, the implant and the
post can serve as foundations for the new tooth.
In the third and final step, the dentist makes a crown that has the size,
shape, color and fit that will blend with your other teeth. Once the
crown is attached to the implant post.

IMPLANTS ARE RIGHT FOR YOU?
Who is a good candidate for implant treatment? You, if you have
good health and if you have healthy gums and enough bone to support a
implant. You must be committed to meticulous oral hygiene to
keep your mouth healthy and scheduling regular dental visits. Ask
your dentist if implants are an option for you.
